Hi there all,
so now that you've completed reading the excerpt of Melville's Moby Dick and you have more than enough familiarity with the "other" Anti-Transcendentalist in our text, Hawthorne, what can you say about how Emerson's and Thoreau's works differ from Melville and Hawthorne?

In order to answer this question, please first discuss how there are actually Transcendentalist views in both Melville and Hawthorne, focusing more on Melville's Moby Dick than Hawthorne, but still give an overview of what qualitites in Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter, now that you stop to think about it, are actually reflective of Transcendentalism.

Then, once you've analyzed for the Transcendentalist items, launch out into how the two Anti-Transcendentalists diverge from Emerson and Thoreau.

Go ahead and post your first response, then later go on and respond at least one time to one of your classmates' posts.

Enjoy the digital group work, my loves. Shocked
